What is WordPress.com

In a previous article we covered the .org domain. Super simple, its just the keys handed to you so you can do it yourself package. Now unto wordpress.com, its more or less the keys in the socket and turned to on, all you have to do is get in. They got you covered with all sides of the site building and blog creation process.

In my previous experience I found both to be useful for a crowd that wants a little bit of a different experience as stated in the beginning.

This one has features built in, it's all built in and ready for you to launch. Keep in mind its still not easy to go from idealization to publishing of your site, even with the advent of AI tools, they still require maintenance now.

The entry fee for this side of the platform is about a few dollars a month while as mentioned, the other side of the platform requires a few computer knowledge and server to be setup and running. Not everyone is ready to experience that kinda of technicality steepness so they usually stick to the easy to set up .com domain. Also it's more focused for everyone, developers steer towards the .org domain as it makes sense to them.

I recommend wordpress.com is your looking to make some income locally, its still good for beginners to a looking to grow in the next 3-6 months. An from there, they go towards the self hosted option versus the managed version. But at some point you'll get into platform hunting to see how you want to fulfill the point in your business were you want people to find you.

There you go it's everything you need to launch and grow — unmetered traffic, essential tools, a free domain name as they say versus keys given to launch of the more mature looking version catered towards bigger teams of the org wordpress domain.
